Testimonials

“Sofia goes above and beyond to connect with and help children improve all aspects of communication, including social skills and pragmatics which play a huge part in how kids express themselves. Her assessment is extremely thorough and her in depth report was very enlightening. It was shared with a family friend who has a PhD in speech pathology and even they were impressed with her report. She really took the time to identify the specific things we needed to work on, and comes prepared with a well thought out activity each session targeted towards the areas that need improvement. She is the second speech therapist we have worked with and the quality of her work and care is distinguishable. To say my son loves her and is thrilled when she arrives and sad when she leaves is an understatement. We've seen improvement after a handful of sessions. Can't recommend her enough!”

“Sofia was a spectacular therapist for my son! She was incredibly engaging, had a keen sense of how to tailor each session to my son’s specific needs, and infused each session with fun and creative activities. I never wanted to miss a session myself as I learned a tremendous amount from her in the process! I highly recommend her for every child!”

“Sofia worked twice weekly with our son in-school and through tele-therapy. She used creative ways to help our son, who was four at the time, start to speak. Books, games, and songs were all targeted to the interest of the child in order to engage him. New material was also brought in regularly so that he would have opportunities to expand his verbal skill set. We truly believe that Sofia was an asset in our son's development and would recommend her heartily to everyone in need of speech services.”

“I cannot sing higher praises than for Sofia. My son spoke 10 words at 14 months and then, inexplicably, stopped speaking altogether. It was a terrifying experience. By the time we met Sofia, we had had more than seven speech therapists. He had a lot to catch up on. After years of work and worry, he began speaking at age three. His vocabulary and interactive speech (asking and responding) improved significantly. And then, COVID struck and Sofia was 100% dedicated to making remote therapy work. With persistence and determination, she managed to engage him on screen, little by little, so that by the end of their time together, my son could spend the entire half hour listening and willingly participate in a real conversation. It was a Herculean job, but Sofia did it, and against all odds, my child actually made progress in that one crucial area (he regressed in everything else). Equally important, I learned skills and methods from Sofia that enable me to continue to help him acquire and use language. I remember, a long time ago, friends would tell me there would come a time when I could not get him to shut up. Happily we are there, and I owe Sofia a debt of gratitude for getting us to this point.”
