Consultation

Includes a 20-minute phone or in person conversation between the therapist and parent(s). This is the opportunity to ask questions, address concerns, and determine if speech and language evaluation and/or treatment may be the right fit for your child and family.

Initial consultations are free of charge.


Evaluation

Determines the presence, nature, and severity of a delay or a disorder. An evaluation may consist of the following: parent interview and case history report, play based and/or academic language-samples, standardized assessment, in-home and/or center-based observations. Includes a detailed written report with a diagnostic statement, impressions, treatment plan, and goals.

Treatment

One-on-one therapy between the clinician and your child, specifically designed for your child’s needs. Therapy may address receptive and/or expressive language delays, pragmatic (social) language skills, auditory processing and executive functioning, and speech sound production skills (general articulation, lisp, stuttering, and/or phonological patterns). Parents and caregivers are welcome and encouraged to participate.

 

Location

Services are provided at the child’s home in designated areas of Downtown Jersey City. Alternatively, arrangements may be made for the therapist to provide services in a child-care or school setting. Designated travel areas include: Van Vorst Park, Paulus Hook, Exchange Place, Hamilton Park, Harsimus Cove, Harborside Financial Center, The Village, Powerhouse Arts District/WALDO, Grove Street, and sections of Newport and the Hudson Waterfront South of 12th Street

Payment

Sofia Sullivan SLP is a private pay practice. Health insurance is not accepted; however, a detailed invoice may be provided upon request if you would like to submit a claim to your insurance company. Please, contact Sofia directly for further information regarding payment and pricing.

Please note that due to state law, Medicaid recipients are ineligible for private pay services and must seek services through registered Medicaid providers.

Health and Safety

Sofia Sullivan SLP takes action to lower the risk of COVID-19 spread by following current CDC guidelines. Sofia has been fully vaccinated for COVID-19 including a bivalent booster shot as of October 2022. Sofia is trained in child and baby First Aid and CPR.
